Tuesday, November 5th, persons across the Commonwealth of Virginia will be filling out ballots to choose our next President of the United States, as well as U.S. House and Senate seats (select areas) and local positions.
The Town of Jarratt, Virginia, is having a local election: the positions that need to be filled are:
- One (1) candidate for the position of Mayor;
- Six (6) candidates for the six positions for Town Council.
While a lot of people have already made the decision to not vote this year due to their distaste in the candidates for both Federal and State elections, we must all remember that LOCAL elections are just as important. Democracy starts in LOCAL elections, and if we as a people cannot keep honesty and transparency in our local governments ...our country will always be doomed for failure.
Jarratt, Virginia, is a duel-county municipality, so please remember that you vote for Jarratt's Mayor and six (6) members of Council at your usual voting areas. If, FOR ANY REASON, you are denied such at your designated polling area and you have the right to vote in the Jarratt, Virginia, election, DO NOT fill out a ballot until you speak with your respective county registrar's office:
