Town of Jarratt, VA: Deleting Notices?

It has come to our attention that the Town of Jarratt, Virginia, has decided it is allowed to delete things that should not be deleted: namely the work session and council meeting notice for Monday, November 4th, 2024, documented on the website on November 1st, as well as the notice to not park on the property beside the town office, also originally documented on the website on November 1st.

All documentations of past and future meetings and announcements (except, oddly enough, the opening of Agave restaurant is still noted on the top right) have been removed from the website entirely.

From this point forward, a screenshot of said notices will be placed on the calendar as an addendum to the links provided.  We will not allow online documentation to be sullied by the idiocy that seems to be playing around with the official Town of Jarratt, VA, website at the moment.

To be honest?  They may never place documentation on the official town website again.  We shall see.

Public Notice: Town of Jarratt, VA, Calendar of Events!

Because we at JarrattVA.fyi believe in transparency at all costs - yet the current "leaders" and office management of the Town of Jarratt do not - any and all meetings, town office closures, town/community events that are hosted and/or sponsored by the Town, changes in trash collection dates - and so on - will be documented in this lovely Google calendar to the best of our ability.

If you know of anything that is missing from it, please let us know as soon as possible.  We are only human, and we cannot predict what might be posted in one place but not in another.

Feel free to leave a comment on a post, on the calendar page, through the "Contact the Manager" form, or even drop an email to info (at) jarrattva (dot) fyi should you find information that should be added to the calendar.

We will do anything and everything in our power to keep things up-to-date for all persons interested - even if the Town itself restricts the information to only one or two places wherein and by which people do not frequent and/or know about directly.

The calendar is STRICTLY town informationIf you choose to add it to your own personal Google calendar, you will not find holidays doubled up - we wouldn't want to clutter up anyone's app with double postings!

Town of Jarratt - Post Election STILL Unofficial

The title should tell you all you need to know.

If it doesn't, here are the overall results - as well as the fact that said results are still marked as "unofficial" - with links to the exact information as given below.

Town of Jarratt, VA: The Results.....

Tonight's numbers are not final, and tomorrow there will be a canvas done for any and all local elections - including Jarratt, Virginia.

Please remember that Jarratt is in both Sussex AND Greensville county.  Due to the move to November elections [a forced measure by the Commonwealth], the numbers granted by each county must be added after canvas tomorrow, Wednesday, November 6th, for the official count.

Various television channels and websites will keep you up-to-date with most elections - I will be following the State Election Results, mainly, and the Virginia Department of Elections will post the unofficial numbers as usual.

Feel free to comment if you have any thoughts to share - even if it is just to scream frustrations.

We all have them.

Election Reminder!

Exercise your right to vote, and make every effort to have your voice heard on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024!  I cannot express how much LOCAL elections impact everything we do on a daily basis: From taxes and utilities, to government spending of said tax monies and how they are best used to enrich the community - the elected officials for your LOCAL government affect your daily life far more than any other.

Beyond the persons that will be on the printed ballot you will be given to fill out, in reference to the Jarratt Town election?  The words "write-in candidates" have been spotted online.  One specific post on Facebook has either been altered or deleted, but still shows up on Google search - it states "We have a ballot full of candidates and prospective write in campaigns to make this election year exciting!" (Re: Town of Jarratt, Open Access; obtained using Google search keywords: "Jarratt VA election write-in 2024 Facebook.")

Curiosity bit me, and I asked around - I was granted with two names:
