Town of Jarratt, VA: Newest Town Updates!

JarrattVA.fyi is all about transparency and disclosure when it comes to letting people know what is going on in the Town of Jarratt, Virginia.

That is not exactly the case with the Jarratt Town Office, however.  To the best of our knowledge, they only disclosed information on the Town Website about the town office being open on

1. Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 from 9:00 AM until Noon; and
2. Saturday, December 7th, 2024 from 9:00 AM until Noon

to the community-at-large at 9:55 PM on Thursday, November 21st,* 2024 [edited on Friday*, November 22nd, 2024 to make it look "pretty" - unfortunately there was neither an email nor a text message disclosing said change.]  There has been no formal notice placed on the Jarratt, VA, post office bulletin board* as of 10:30 AM, Friday, November 22nd, 2024.

Yes, they just put this disclosure on the Town Website on Thursday at 9:55 PM* (aren't email notifications awesome?) that the Town Office will be open on Saturday from 9:00 AM until Noon - giving you roughly 35 hours notice WITHOUT placing notice in a public place for persons who do not have access to the internet to be aware of the change.

How many people who DO have internet even look at the website?  How many people receive email and text updates about the changes made on the Town Website?  THIS, ladies and gentlefolk, is the reason JarrattVA.fyi now keeps a calendar for everyone to stay informed of what is going on in Jarratt, Virginia.

Also on the docket?

1. TUESDAY, November 26th, 2024 # - NO TRASH COLLECTION.
2. WEDNESDAY, November 27th, 2024 # - Trash will be collected.
3. THURSDAY, November 28th, 2024 # - The Town Office will be CLOSED.
4. FRIDAY, November 29th, 2024:
             -- The Town Office will be CLOSED. #
             -- NO TRASH COLLECTION. #

The people who are running the Town of Jarratt, Virginia, seem to be trying to keep everyone in the dark.

JarrattVA.fyi will try its best to be the light all of the townspeople and the surrounding community needs to keep itself informed.

The calendar is for public use, and can be added to your own Google calendar to keep yourselves aware of what is going on without worrying about keeping up with the JarrattVA.fyi website - if we know about it, you will know about it.
